About Us

History

It was in 1962 that Bertie Neil Domoney started business manufacturing poultry and pig-house equipment, and trailers. He soon identified the need for a local builders merchant in the area and commenced stocking sand, gravel and cement, slowly expanding to include the immense range of products now offered.

Over the years the high standard of joinery manufacture proved so successful that in 1987 a custom-built Joinery Department was opened, housing a variety of different machinery.

The business remains a family partnership run by Ally, who manages the Joinery Department and is himself a qualified Joiner, Gary who manages Domoney Properties and Domoney Online (for further information on these go to the Links page) and Bonnie who manages the Trade Department. They are assisted by a team of loyal, friendly and competent staff.

As an independent business we are able to respond quickly to the changing needs of our customers, a large majority of whom have been with us for many years. New customers who have specific joinery requirements, or who enjoy the convenience and flexibility that a local business is able to offer, visit us through recommendation.

Location

On the main A30 between Salisbury in Wiltshire and Shaftesbury in Dorset, the village of Dinton lies on the B3089. We are approximately 9 miles from Salisbury and 12 miles from Shaftesbury.
